Why Form a Section?
The main reason for forming a Section is simply because rocket
activities are more fun in a group! A group gives you a strong sense
of community, a bigger pool of ideas, and a source of enthusiasm that
makes every sport launch, building session, or get-together better.
While getting a Section started takes some effort, the fun times you'll have will make you wonder why you didn't start sooner! Let us help you get an NAR Section started in your area!
How to Form a Section
This document contains proven hints and tips that others have used to form active NAR Sections in areas all over the country. Some of these Sections are now well over 20 years old!
While these tips and suggestions have been proven successful, you should remember that there is no set formula to getting an NAR Section started. Many Section leaders have used different techniques to form and run their Sections. You should use your own imagination and resources when you think it is appropriate to do so. Part of the fun of organizing an NAR Section is the individual personality and character each club takes on as it grows. While you may follow the ideas presented here, don't lose sight of the fact that it is your Section, with its own ideas and spirit.
At the end, you will find a checklist of things you should do in order to have a healthy and active Section. The items on the checklist correspond to the sections in the text. You can use the checklist as a quick reference after reading the page. You can copy the checklist and assign individual tasks to the other NAR members in your area who are helping to get the Section started.
