Banquet
This year marks a very special year for NSL, as it is the 60th year anniversary not for only the National Association of Rocketry, but also the 60 anniversary of when Vern Estes first met G Harry Stine. Vern and Gleda Estes, along with NAR leadership and MARS, look forward to welcoming each of you attending NSL 2018!
As a special treat Vern Estes is willing to autograph one rocket for each registered flier while he and Gleda are on the field. Needless to say that autographed rocket will become a lifetime souvenir, a real piece of model rocket history that you will enjoy for years to come.
Join with your friends from NAR, MARS, and the Rocketry Show at the Saturday Night Banquet where you will hear Vern and Gleda recount how they first met G Harry Stine in May of 1958. Vern will talk about how he developed Mabel, his engine making machine, which not only met, but greatly exceeded the needs of G Harry Stine’s fledgling company Model Missile Works. With Mabel producing engines faster and in larger quantities than Model Missile Works could utilize, Estes Industries was born.
This is a story you will want to hear, and will be a once in a lifetime opportunity that you will be afforded as you hear it from the man who gave birth to the model rocket industry that launched each of us into this hobby. You will not want to miss this!!
Banquet seating is limited, and is already booking well, so please don’t wait until May to reserve your seats, or you may be out of luck!
The NSL-2018 Banquet will be held at the Oak Valley Events Center housed in our primary host hotel, the Quality Inn, located minutes from the field in Geneseo.
Dinner will be buffet style offering quite a few selections at a reasonable cost. There will be reduced prices for children 14 years and under.
Bottom line, the food is great, the dinner costs are very reasonable, but your experience at the banquet will be absolutely priceless!
Of course there will be a cash bar!
