The Islander Rocketeers are a student-led organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the field of rocketry through hands-on projects and research. Our club provides students and members with the opportunity to gain practical experience in the design, construction, and launch of high-powered rockets. Our mission is to educate and inspire the next generation of engineers by creating a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about space exploration and innovation. We host regular meetings, design and build sessions, and launch events.Launches
Our primary launch site is located at 6869 Yorktown Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78414. It offers a spacious and open area with ample space for launching rockets of various sizes and power levels. The launch site is equipped with designated launch pads, safety equipment, and recovery systems to ensure a secure and controlled launching experience.HPR
At the Islander Rocketeers club, we embrace high-powered rocketry as an extension of our regular activities, catering to members interested in more advanced projects. We offer support and resources to those looking to design, build, and launch high-powered rockets in compliance with the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) High Power Rocketry (HPR) guidelines. Our experienced enthusiasts mentor members through certification, provide guidance on motor selection and safety considerations, and organize tailored training sessions and workshops. We facilitate access to designated launch sites for high-powered rockets, ensuring safety measures and protocols are strictly adhered to. Members enjoy exclusive launch opportunities, collaborate with fellow high-power enthusiasts, and benefit from networking, knowledge sharing, and skill development in this exciting realm of rocketry.Meetings
