Greetings Rocket Enthusiasts,

We want to welcome you to the NAR’s annual technical conference NARCON.  NARCON is where rocket enthusiasts share technical hobby rocketry information, and professionals present insights into commercial, university, and public aerospace programs and facilities. Ed LaCroix and Todd Schweim  are NARCON 2021’s co-Event Directors.

At no time in the NAR’s history, have we had as reasonably priced and as easily accessible an opportunity to attend the Association’s annual “meet-up.”  This year, for the first time, NARCON will be a virtual event held January 29-31, 2021, using the browser-based conference platform Accelevents.

We are privileged to have a Friday Keynote by Bashar Rizk. Bashar is a Senior Staff Scientist for the OSIRIS-REx mission to the asteroid Bennu and the NARCON 2020 Keynote speaker. Bashar will be featured on Friday, the 29th and will provide an update to the OSIRIS-Rex mission now that a successful “TAG” of Bennu has occurred and a material sample has been secured for return to Earth.

Later Friday evening, manufacturers from across the hobby rocketry spectrum will join in a ManuFacts roundtable where they will be bringing you news of the latest and greatest products and services from their respective companies.

On Saturday the 30th, NARCON will offer 18 breakout sessions from a varied list of speakers. You will hear from the likes of Joe Barnard, Gary Rosenfield, and Jim Jarvis, as well as Jim Barrowman, Herb Vinyard, and Bernard Cawley.

Just to whet your appetite, here are a few of the breakout session topics:  Altimeters, ARLISS, Creating graphics and decals, designing long-burning rocket motors.

And finally, there will TOURS. Yes, even though you are cozied up in your home, far from Cape Canaveral, Penrose, CO, or LOC Precision, NARCON will be bringing these places to you. Buckle up buttercup, you’re in for a fun ride. Registration and signup is now open!
