Important NARAM Updates (7.17.19)
The schedule has been updated to accurately reflect the location and time of each event.
A new fun sporting event has been added, Apollo Spot Landing! Look under tab heading, “General Flying Info.
Online registration has ended. Participants can register at the field beginning Saturday, July 27, 2019.
The day for both the Night Launch and ManuFacts at NARAM 61 have changed.
- The Night Launch will now be held on Sunday, July 28 from 8:30 – 10:30 pm. (It had been planned for Saturday the 27th.)
- ManuFacts will now be held on Saturday, July 27 from 7:30 – 9:00 pm. (It had been planned for Sunday the 28th.)
Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Contest Director, the day for NAR Town Hall meeting at NARAM 61 has changed. The meeting will now be held on Monday, July 29 from 7:30 – 9PM. (It had been planned for Tuesday the 30th at the same time.) The upshot of this change is that members arriving on Tuesday the 30th, with plans to vote in the Board of Trustee election originally scheduled for Tuesday night will be unable to do so. So please, if you haven’t yet voted by mail (ballot in the May-June issue of SR) or on the NAR website via your personal account, please exercise your right to vote today! Voting by on-line and mail-in ballots ends at midnight, July 28 (that means a mail-in ballot must be sent with enough lead time to be counted on or before July 26.) If you know anyone who may be affected by the date change to the Town Hall, please make them aware. For those that can not attend the Town Hall meeting, there will be a live feed via Facebook again this year.
The CD would like to announce your RSOs for NARAM-61:

It was just learned that the NAR’s NARAM contest and sport range ground support equipment will have to have been removed from AMA Sites 1 (Sport Range) and Site 3 (Contest Range) by midnight, August 3. The contest range is already scheduled to shut down at 12 noon on Saturday. However, to meet this requirement, the sport range is now also going to close at noon on Saturday- NOT at 4:30pm as originally listed on the NARAM 61 schedule on the website. I appreciate the members’ understanding in this matter. The AMA flying center is extremely busy this time of year and Sites 1 and 3 are both scheduled to be taken over by other AMA functions on Sunday the 4th. —Ed LaCroix, National Events
Returns for ALL events of that day end 2 hours after the flying day ends- therefore the deadline is 5:30PM. Returns made between the close of the range at 3:30PM and 5:30PM must be made to the CD- Brian Muzek. His contact information will be supplied at the competitors briefing. (5.14.19)
