NARTREK Senior Bronze (NS1)

Welcome to NARTREK Senior Bronze program! NARTREK Bronze will introduce you to the NAR model rocket safety code, rocket building, and rocket finishing. Each credential includes a reading, building, and launching segment. Each credential builds upon and adds to the skills learned in the previous credential. Participants need to complete all three segments for each credential, then submit  the requirements through the website.


As each level is completed, you will receive an 
Achievement Certificate.  

 

The NARTREK Senior Program

  • Is open to members of the NAR.
  • Is age appropriately designed to improve the knowledge and skills of modelers age 18 and older. 
  • Modelers can work alone, with an affiliated NAR section, class or after school group.
  • Operates on the honor system.
  • Uses commercially available rocket kits whenever possible.
  • Is designed to be low-cost. You buy your own kits, motors, equipment.
  • You must know and abide by the NAR Model Rocket  and High Power safety Codes 
  • You must understand the NAR rocket motor coding system.
  • NAR Sections can provide the guidance, expertise, and resources to make the Junior participation very rewarding.

NARTREK Senior Bronze Level Requirements:

Part 1—Read the Model Rocket Safety code and the Building and Finishing your model rocket article. When you register, you are sent an email. Follow the link within the email to take the test, your score must be 80% or better. 


Part 2—
Purchase a skill level beginner rocket kit. The kit should have balsa fins.(for example: Estes Alpha  and Estes U.S. Army Patriot) Read the instructions and build the model rocket. “Finish” the model rocket with paint and decals. Take a picture of the model and submit it on the Level 2 form.  


Part 3—
Fly and successfully recover the model. The model should be flown and recovered 2 times. Use motors of no more than a “C” total impulse.

To Register

1.) Go to the Members dropdown menu and choose the Continuing Education tab. 
2.) Choose the NARTREK Senior Bronze Course, click Take Course.
3.) Follow the registration process. 
4.) Complete the course requirements listed above.
